I have been interested in Jeeps since I was a teenager. When I finally bought my 1985 Jeep CJ in June of 2010 (as detailed here), my intention was that it would be fine for a daily driver most of the time. I knew it had problems that I could iron out once at a time, so while enjoying driving it most of the time I also spent a great deal of time fixing things.

Sometimes something would break or be close to breaking, so I would make that my main focus. Other times I would work on non-critical cosmetic issues. There were also times when I'd get tired of working on the Jeep every day and I wouldn't do anything but spend time in the driver's seat, cruising down the road.

The full chronology of my work and my personal journey is chronicled here on Jeepforum.com in 60+ pages (as of January 2012) of posts and commentry. However, instead of relying on a Jeepforum to tell my story, I put together the following pages to give people a very basic, high level summary of the work I've done. I have cataloged the repairs into three main groups. Each link below gives you a page with many photos and some basic comments about the work:

  1. Cosmetic repairs
  2. Break, fix, and refurbish
  3. Upgrades
Note that these do not represent all of the work I've done on the Jeep. I've chosen to show only the highlights, biggest jobs, and most interesting projects. I have undertaken scores of large and small projects from tiny wiring repair jobs to things spanning months. If you want the the whole story, read my Jeepforum thread.
